The UK experienced a partial solar eclipse on August the 12th, 2026.
My family and I went on a trip to Southerndown Beach in South Wales to enjoy the eclipse which peaked at around 94% totality at this location.

It was incredible!

When we got there it was 35+ degrees with intense sunlight and no cloud cover. As it progressed, it was getting notably darker and cooler until peak coverage. A very strange and awesome experience.
I put together the composite shot below from the images I captured with my a6700 and a Tamron 150-500mm lens equipped with a solar filter kindly loaned by a friend.
I also captured a few landscape shots with my a6400 and a Sony 18-135mm lens, and I recorded a timelapse video using my Dwarf 3 smart telescope.
